Meet The Team
Bain Wealth Management Group was founded by Frank Bain in Salem, Oregon in 1983. Our family business has grown considerably over the past three decades, while high levels of customer service, honesty, integrity and putting the needs of our clients first have remained constants. At Bain Wealth Management Group, you will work closely with Frank Bain and Mark Bain, joint owners of this family wealth management firm, and you will become closely acquainted with our world-class service team. Our team prides itself on delivering excellence each and every day to our clients, many of whom have become “family,” having been with us for over two decades.
FRANK L. BAIN, CHFC, CLU, MBA
Frank guides clients through the retirement planning process with expertise, genuine compassion and an engaging sense of humor. Frank is the founder of Bain Wealth Management Group, Financial Advisor and Managing Partner, and co-founder of our Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). Frank has earned the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter degrees in addition to earning a Masters degree in business.
Frank began his career in the financial services industry in 1983, experiencing the booming ‘80’s and ‘90’s of the stock market, the technology bubble bursting in 2000, as well as the economic meltdown of 2008. He understands the need to protect the savings of retired clients, having seen firsthand what improper preparation and market volatility can do to one’s retirement.
An experienced teacher and coach, Frank has spent the last two decades speaking at financial seminars designed to help motivate people to understand their finances and the importance of having a financial plan.
Frank was raised in Kalispell, Montana with five siblings, playing virtually any sport involving a ball.
Frank and his wife, Barbara, have three grown children, all of whom are married, and seven incredible grandchildren that are the light of their lives. When not working or coaching football, you will find Frank attending his grandchildren’s sports games and recitals.
MARK L. BAIN, CFS, BCM
Mark has a strong passion for connecting with people to help them understand and improve their financial lives. He joined Bain Wealth Management Group in 1998 and is a Financial Advisor and Managing Partner, and co-founder of our Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). He has earned the Certified Fund Specialist and Board Certified in Mutual Funds degrees.
Mark is the Chief Compliance Officer for Bain Wealth Management Group. An experienced financial advisor, he has spent many years speaking at financial seminars throughout the Willamette Valley to help educate people about a wide variety of investments, insurance, Social Security, retirement planning, and strategies they can implement to achieve their financial goals.
Mark was born in Montana, and moved with the Bain family to Salem, Oregon in 1979. There, he grew up playing football, basketball and running track through high school and then played football at Pacific Lutheran University. While there, he met his beautiful bride, Karen, and together they have two amazing daughters, Kayla and Kimmie. Mark loved coaching both of his girls in basketball through Salem Boys and Girls Club and middle school travel teams. Kayla currently attends Whitworth University in Spokane and Kimmie continues at West Salem.
Mark and Karen are active members at their church serving in the high school ministry, and have helped to lead students and families down to Mexico City on seven short term missions trips over the past few years. Both daughters speak Spanish fluently, having attended the language immersion program offered through the West Salem school system. This has allowed them to absolutely thrive on these trips to Mexico to serve those less fortunate than themselves.
Mark loves all things technology-related, working hard to keep up on the latest gadgets and tools, particularly those that can impact our clients in a positive way and help simplify their lives. Most evenings, you can find Mark in a gym around town passionately cheering on his daughters’ teams. Go Titans!
Karen is Mark’s wife and is our Business Manager in charge of Human Resources and Bookkeeping. She has been with Bain Wealth Management Group since 1996 and truly loves to serve and help others. She continues to maintain both her securities license as well as her insurance license. Family is Karen’s passion, supporting daughters Kayla and Kim in all of their various activities.
She has been to the Czech and Haiti on short term mission trips, as well as helping Mark lead seven groups to Mexico City. She feels that God has blessed her in so many ways, and that reaching out to care for and help others is an absolute privilege.
Karen brings to Bain Wealth Management Group a high level of administrative and management skills, along with a caring and loving heart for our clients and employees.
Denise has been with Bain Wealth Management Group since 2006 and is our Account Services Team Leader. She is in charge of maintaining all our client accounts and resolving any problems or questions clients might have regarding their accounts. Her knowledge and experience coupled with her calm demeanor and thorough follow-through allows her to effectively communicate with both our staff and clients alike. Denise trains our new hires on BWMG culture and procedures to ensure a consistently high level of excellence in every operational area of our firm.
She holds securities and insurance licenses, allowing her to directly service our client accounts and also assist Frank and Mark in the financial planning process. Denise excels at helping clients access their financial plan and investment accounts online, streamlining applications and simplifying our clients’ lives to ensure technology is working FOR them, not AGAINST them.
Along with husband, Scott, raising their three young children is one of her life’s greatest joys. They are active members of their church and when not at work, you’ll find Denise gardening, playing volleyball, hiking and spending time with family.
Jennifer, with Bain Wealth Management Group since 2012, processes all of our newly established client accounts. She makes sure that all account-related paperwork is in good order and submitted in a timely manner and keeps clients well-informed throughout the transfer process. She also services all of our brokerage and alternative investment accounts.
Jennifer has a heart to serve our clients, by getting all of the details in order and providing thorough follow-through to help make their lives easier. She is a strong advocate for our clients, working hard with various companies to ensure they transfer our clients investments as requested. She makes absolutely certain that nothing slips through the cracks.
She is an active member at her church, and participated, along with her youngest daughter Sarah, on a trip to Haiti to minister at a girls’ orphanage – a major highlight for their year!
She and her husband, Mark, enjoy hiking, boating and spending time with their two daughters.
Linda helps clients with managing their existing accounts and has been with Bain Wealth Management Group since 2013. She follows up on all account changes like setting up withdrawals or changing beneficiary designations, and keeps clients updated throughout the process. She makes certain that clients receive answers right away to any questions they may have.
Serving and helping others is a passion for Linda. She carries this out each day by keeping our clients well informed with thorough follow-through to help make their lives easier. She services our mutual fund, life insurance and annuity accounts.
Linda and her husband, Jordan, have three children, two of which have completed high school. They teach Sunday School at their church and when she isn’t at work, you’ll likely find her out camping, enjoying one of the many beautiful lakes here in Oregon by water skiing and boating with friends and family.
Jenn has been with Bain Wealth Management Group since 2003 and is currently our Seminar Event Coordinator. She is a perfectionist and does a fantastic job planning and organizing all of our client appreciation events and educational workshops. She is also involved in other back office duties.
Jenn has reduced her hours to part time these past few years, as she and her husband, Ben, are raising their three beautiful young children. Her decade of “running the office” has given her a breadth of experience to assist and train staff in many areas, including maintaining our strong service culture for our clients. Over the last decade Jenn has created, “systematized,” and improved efficiencies in many areas of our office procedures and workflows, taking our already high-functioning team to even greater levels of efficiency.
When not focused on work, you’ll find Jenn corralling her bustling family and thriving as a mother.
JULIE VAN DYCK
Julie is Bain Wealth Management Group’s Director of First Impressions since 2014. She warmly greets you with a smile when you arrive at our office or call us on the phone. Julie coordinates and maintains the office calendar to help our clients schedule appointments with Mark and Frank. She also regularly checks in with our clients to see if they have any questions or concerns that may require our assistance and is able to direct them to the right person who can help them with their request.
Julie has three grown children and has entered into the “empty nesting” phase of life. While not at work, you’ll likely find Julie either working at or visiting a winery, as she has a passion for vineyards and an appreciation for wines made in Oregon.
Kendra has been our part-time “do it all” Administrative Assistant since 2013, and recently signed on as a permanent employee after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Counselling/Clinical Psychology. She continues to be a tremendous help to everyone in the office using her incredible ability to manage multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment and utilize her computer skills to accomplish virtually any task in record time!
She works with our Account Services Team to help ensure that all newly-opened accounts are funded and transfers are completed correctly and in a timely way. She works with the investing companies and provides regular updates to our clients. This ensures that the whole process goes through seamlessly and effortlessly for our clients.
Her newly-married husband, Wally, is stationed in Newport, serving our country in the Coast Guard.
Jaclyn has primarily been focused on utilizing her strong attention to detail skills helping us become a paperless office since 2018, and we recently signed her on as a permanent employee. She is also a major help assisting our Account Services Team with a wide range of client service needs. Her passion to listen and truly make a difference in our client’s lives comes through vibrantly in person as well as on the phone, providing confidence to get things done with both our staff and clients alike.
Jaclyn was recently married to Robert Bultena and they are excited to begin building their lives together. Outside of work they both love serving in their church, spending time with their families, and enjoying the beauty that surrounds us here in Oregon.
